Day 52 - Manchester Star Ale

Today Beer Heads we are at the home of the worlds most popular soccer team, Manchester United where we are drinking beer from their local brewery. This is a dark full bodied beer that is perfect for starting a drunken riot during a soccer match. Iron Chef said she detected a hint of metal in it's roasty, malty flavor that's just like taking a turf cleat to the face. It took a quick second to get used to this one, but after I did it went down smooth. I think I will give this one a 7 on the beer scale.

Day 51 - Wychcraft Blonde Beer



Let us now summon up the Brewers of the Wychwood Brewery by chanting the magic incantation. It goes: Owa... Tannis... Syam. Repeat it faster Owa-Tannis-Syam. Owa-Tannis-Syam. Owa-Tannis-Syam. OwaTannisSyam. O-Wat-An-Ass-I-Am! lol

Well, OK maybe not, but at least we can drink some this fabulous blonde beer from Oxfordshire England. It has a nice citrus-y taste that pops in your mouth. Iron Chef said it was enticing and made her want to drink more than what we had available with our one bottle. It's a very clean and smooth beer that is better than your average yellow beer. I will rate this an 7 on the beer scale.

The Hoppy Otter



Congratulations Beer Heads we've made it half way through the beer odyssey, and I'm going to commemorate it by adding a widget to the sidebar that everyone worldwide can click on to support B.R.E.W. and become apart of that inner circle too. Or at least I will add what I think will be the image. It's too late for me tonight to add the code behind it, but that will come tomorrow.

Today's beer is a really good one that's made from the water of the Otter River, and thankfully not from the Ohio River. It's got a nice mix of the hops and malt which is surprising because the name would suggest that it's full tilt on the hops side. Iron Chef said it's a bit yeasty, but then again she says that about alot of beer. It's a very drinkable beer and I will rate it an 7 on the beer scale.

Fuller's London Pride





Today beer heads we're still on Chiswell Street just north of the London Tower Bridge at the Oliver Cromwell era brewery, Fuller's. This is a great beer. Good malt, Great Hops, fine flavor. There may be some tea in this one which makes it perfect for a beer named "London Pride". There is a pleasant aroma from it, and a smooth as butter aftertaste to it. For the first time since Belgium, I can rate a beer 9 on the beer scale.

100 Beers in 100 Days - Something Completely Different

Day 47 - Samuel Smith’s Organic Lager

Once again we welcome the members of B.R.E.W (Beer Reviewing Enthusiasts of the World) for the sampling of today’s beer. We were all very pleased with this beer. It was a very American beer except that it wasn’t watered down. There wasn’t much analysis of this one since that’s not really the personality of the "inner circle" when we are seated around a camp fire. Sam Adams did happen to note that it was a very clean and smooth beer, while Grand Tetons and Iron Chef contemplated the balance between the heavier malt and stronger hops flavors. I am sure there was more, but more drinks, and falling asleep seems to have erased those reviews from my mind.

Day 48 - Monty Python’s HOLY GRAIL

A word from the founder of Black Sheep Breweries. One day I built this brewery up from nothing. When I started, all I had was swamp! Other brewers said I was daft to build a brewery on a swamp, but I built it all the same, just to show 'em! It sank into the swamp, so I built a second one. That sank into the swamp. I built a third one. It burned down, fell over, and then it sank into the swamp. But the fourth one stayed up! And that's what you're going to get beer from, Beer Heads--the strongest brewery on these islands!
