Days 61 through 67

That's right Beer Heads! 7 Beers in one blog post. I figured that since we are in the country of Ireland, that I would drink the beers Irish Style; i.e.-all at once.

Beamish
It's an Irish Stout that originated in Cork Ireland, but is now brewed in Dublin. It's a malty beer that's not as heavy as Guinness, and has slight nutty quality at the end. Rating: 6

Guinness Extra Stout
From the famous St. James Gate in Dublin comes this beer that I guess is more of a stout than a stout, whatever that means. It's malty sweet, and real heavy. Iron Chef said it ain't Bushmills whisky, but it's the next best thing she has drank from Ireland. Rating: 7

Guinness Draught
The best thing to come from Ireland, and easily the best beer I drank when visiting London last year. I don't know how to describe it's flavor. I just know that I like it. I will have to admit that I was too anxious to take the time to pour it properly. I didn't get the right head on it. Nor did I put that cool little shamrock shape in the head. Rating: 9

Harp
They called it a lager, but it was very much like the stouts. I'm only gonna rate it a 5 because it was misleading.

Smithwicks
Brewed in the Irish county of Kilkenny. (Oh my god! You Bastards) It's dark like a stout, but highly cabonated with some bitter hops like a lager. I like the dark amber color. I also like the mild hoppiness. I was starting to miss hops while drinking all of these Stouts. This has pretty good flavor, but there is something that about it that doesn't jive with me. rating: 6

Murphy's Red
It's roastey, toasty, malty and red. It's OK. Rating: 7

Ohara's Red
Maybe I'm drunk by now, but this one isn't much different from the Murphy's. Rating: 7

Blowin' In The Wind

Or at least it was. Cincinnati that is. I mean was literally blowin' in the freaking wind last Sunday. The entire city almost blew away with the hurricane force winds from Ike. It was nothing anyone had ever seen here. A hurricane in Cincinnati???

I consider myself lucky. I only had to go without electricity for 5 days. It's the people in Texas with no home to come to that have the real reasons to complain.

Attention Beer Heads. Andy's Weird Warped World is experiencing some technical difficulties (actually Duke Energy in Cincinnati is experiencing the difficulties, but it affects me). I will return on Saturday.

Day 60 - Tennents

Aye Beer Heads! It's GroondsKepper Willie here to talk aboot Tennents Scottish Lager. Yuu think yuu know watt gyood beer is. Yuu think Budweiser is gyood beer? It's time to take yuu to schyool. Yuu dyon't know watt gyood beer is until yuuv had Tennents. And I shyood know. There's nary a gyood beer thyat can escape a greased Scotsman. Dyon't lessen tuu that bath-takin underwear-wearin' lily of a blogger Andy because he would just give it a 4 on the beer scale because it has the same booty smell that Hyeinekin has.

100 Beers in 100 Days - A Womens Point of View

Day 59 - Traquair Jacobite Ale

Today Beer heads we find ourselves in a brewery located in the oldest inhabited house in Scotland. Originally used as a hunting lodge for Scotlands royalty, the Traquiar is now the home of a pure malt beer called Traquair Jacobite. Which is of course a very suck-y name because it would be absolutely impossible for a drunk person to pronounce it correctly. Suck-y name aside, this is a real nice beer. Iron Chef said it was fruity with a strong coriander flavor. She and Grand Tetons liked that it was "lighter like pop" even though it had a dark color like heavier beers. Grand Tetons said it tasted like pumpkin pie smells, and The professor "Magellan" said it had a taste that reminded her of black licorice. The Professor "Magellan" and Iron Chef thought it also reminded them of when they would eat two different flavors of bottle caps candy at the same time. I couldn't really find the words to describe this beer so I figured I would let the ladies comments say it all. I think they would rate it a 7 on the beer scale.
